Earlier this afternoon, gaming's equivalent of the Oscars, the Golden Joystick Awards, took place at the Park Lane Hilton in London. Nintendo were nominated for most of the awards and walked away with four of the prestigious golden trophies, including:

- The Sun Family Game Of The Year 2007 - Wii Sports (Nintendo)

- The Innovation Of The Year 2007 - Wii (Nintendo)

- The Publisher Of The Year 2007 - Nintendo

- Nintendo Game Of The Year 2007 - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo)

Interestingly, Nintendo lost out on the handheld game of the year award to Grand Theft Auto for the PSP. Twilight Princess also came second in the voting for Ultimate Game Of The Year, losing out to the Xbox 360's gory shooter Gears of War.
