News: Graphics More Of A Focus Down The Line

Miyamoto says that Nintendo may shift their focus more to graphics - but only further down the line.

In an interview with Australia's 'Courier Mail', Nintendo's legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has spoken out about where Nintendo will go next, after they have caused their gaming revolution. Would the company go for more sophisticated graphics?

"Maybe a few years down the road then definitely we will probably look in that direction, but at this point in time we thought it better to use technology not to simply try to re-create the same games over again with better graphics but instead to try and do something new and unique."

Though Miyamoto re-affirmed that good gameplay would always be part of Nintendo's main objectives - "Two things. Number one, [a game should allow] the player to experience something they've never felt before, whether it's some kind of new experience in the game or new emotion. And number two, [a game should] be very easy to play and easy to control."
