Nintendo of Japan celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary of Mario's first appearance, which was way back in 1985!

On September 13th, 1985, a true videogame legend was born. No, not Reggie, but Nintendo's mega mascot Mario (aka. Jumpman)! With less than a month to go until the twentieth anniversary of that date, Nintendo of Japan have launched a special microsite which wishes a very happy birthday to our favourite plumber.

With little else but weird videos of a pair of hands playing Super Mario Bros. off-screen currently on the site, it will be interesting to see how the tribute to Mario will grow over the upcoming weeks.

We'll keep you updated if anything big appears on the site. Who knows, the 20th anniversary of Mario's debut could be a convenient date to release the Revolution news we're all dying to hear...
