Hey! Ho! Lego! Harmonix's rhythm behemoth gets a novel new outing. Details inside...
Harmonix have today announced a brand new version of their popular music title, set to release this year. Lego Rock Band sees the company join forces with Travellers Tales - developer behind franchises such as Lego Star Wars - to produce the game.
Lego Rock Band will take on a more teen-aimed approach to the series. As well as that iconic, blocky aesthetic look to the whole game, the actual music on offer consists of a light arrangement of rock and pop, with songs such as Song 2, Kung Fu Fighting, The Final Countdown and Good Charlotte's Boys and Girls. There will also be an emphasis on "building your own band". It's not too difficult to imagine what that would entail.
The game is promised to support all instrument controllers from previous Rock Bands and "other music game controllers". Guitar Hero fans - you're covered. Lego Rock Band is due out at the end of 2009 for Wii, DS, 360 and PS3.
What do you make of this latest title? Harmless spin-off or a sign of a milked franchise?
