High Voltage Software is apparently working on bringing Conduit to the Nintendo 3DS.
Eric Nofsinger, chief executive of High Voltage Software, has spoken to Eurogamer about the future of the Conduit series and the fact they are working to bring it to the 3DS. Speaking to the website Mr. Nofsinger states early results are "very good".
"Now that we're winding things down a lot of our resources are on pulling this technology over to 3DS. We are very much pulling over this engine and this technology on this new hardware."
At present SEGA, who published the previous titles, is not on board but a dialogue between the two company does currently exist so chances are they will publish a Conduit title on the 3DS when it is released.
"We're still early. The resolution is definitely lower, but the screen real estate is smaller so it balances out. We've not had a lot of severe optimisation yet, but we're going to be able to have something very close to this [Conduit 2] on the 3DS probably by GDC. We've got environments from this already up and running around. You can shoot, you can select different weapons and you can see enemies. It runs pretty darn well with full 3D and everything."
Mr. Nofsinger reflects fans' opinions by stating that he is happy Nintendo has decided to make the friend code system easier by having just one code per console. He also stated that developers who have worked primarily in 3D, on consoles such as the GameCube and Wii, are at an advantage when working on the 3DS compared to developers who have worked solely on the DS.
