Two weeks after the game hit US shores, the developer of The Conduit muses over its commercial outcome...
While no official sales figures are readily available for The Conduit just yet, High Voltage Software continues to will thier baby on at the tills. Eric Nofsinger recently spoke to Official Nintendo Magazine about how publishers will be viewing the success of the title, and what better way to urge gamers to buy your game than a little guilt-trip?
"We were really hoping to raise the quality bar of games on Wii. All the developers and publishers we've talked to, I think they're playing sort of "wait and see" just now. If it does well and the gamers support it, then I think we'll see a lot more titles like this. Otherwise we're going to see a lot more games with Fit and Sports in their name."
While we won't know the official numbers The Conduit pulled until NPD data is released for the month of June, we have heard whispers that the game performed quite admirably in its first week on US shelves. The number being bandied around is 100,000 - that's significantly more than MadWorld, and on top of that, the game will hopefully enjoy some decent legs with a sustained marketing campaign.
The Conduit finally hits European shores this Friday. Are you throwing your support behind High Voltage? Be sure to leave your comments below.
