HMV in Oxford Street, London, will host the official launch of the Nintendo 3DS in the UK.
With just a few weeks left until the 3DS is launched in the UK Nintendo has announced that HMV will be hosting the official launch celebration. The company's Oxford Street branch in London will see the official launch while a northern launch will take place at HMV LiverpoolOne. The events will begin at 11pm on Thursday March 24th and 100 other HMV stores will be open for a midnight launch.
According to Eurogamer the first 500 people through their Oxford Street doors will receive a free 3DS game of their choosing. Everyone else will receive a 'space blanket', tin foil wrap, to keep them warm alongside a copy of Official Nintendo Magazine and a t-shirt. Space will of course be limited and wristbands will be handed out on a first-come-first-served basis. HMV expects people to start queuing up several days early.
In-store Pro Evolution Soccer 3DS and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition competitive gameplay will also be available for anyone looking to prove their skills.
Club Nintendo members can also sign up for a prize draw to be invited to an official launch party at London's Old Billingsgate building. The event is only open to 2000 people so if you wish to see Russell Kane host and Plan B, Hadouken, DJ Yoda and Parade perform you should enter now!
