The Hobbit is of course the book that is the base for the extremely popular The Lord of the Rings series. In this book, the story is told how Bilbo Baggings gets his ring.

In the game, you control character Bilbo Baggings through Middle-Earth. He's a hobbit (a small guy, to those two persons who haven't read or seen Lord of the Rings). On his quest you will of course face many enemies and difficulties.

Russel Byrd, managing director at publisher Inevitable says, "Bringing the epic worlds described in Tolkien's works to life through a video game has been an amazing experience."

"The Hobbit is one of the pre-eminent fantasy works of all time and is perfectly suited to be the inspiration for a great game. The book provides a tremendous amount of rich material from which we expect to make a fantasy game that lives up to the extremely high expectations of Tolkien's fans worldwide." according to Mike Ryder of Sierra.

The game is set to be released in 2003. Not much is known yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we find out more!
