News: Hollywood Interested in 3DS

The last part of the 'Iwata Asks' 3DS edition states that Hollywood studios are very interested in the 3DS.

The 3-part 'Iwata Asks' about the 3DS is concluded today following yesterday's European and American events whereby the console's launch details were announced. In the discussion, which can be read in its entirety on the Nintendo website, Satoru Iwata comments on Hollywood's interest in the 3DS.

When the console was unveiled at E3 last year Nintendo stated that numerous studios had already expressed an interest and they were in discussions with others. At yesterday's events they announced that Sky's 3D channels, Eurosport and Aardman Animations content will be available on the console. While Mr. Iwata did not mention any specific deals with Hollywood it is encouraging to know that discussions are still taking place. It would seem at present most conversations have focused on delivering 3D trailers via the SpotPass system but more extensive content could be available in the future.

The remainder of the 'Iwata Asks' discussion focuses on the Touch! Generation titles and what Nintendo has in store for the 3DS.
