News: I Want to be the Very Best...

...like no one ever was. Yes Pokémon is touring the UK again, this time for Pokémon Colosseum.

Like many Pokémon games before it Pokémon Colosseum is to be used in a tournament event to find the best Pokémon gamer.

The event will try and find the UK's number 1 Pokémon Colosseum player. First rounds will commence in Toys "R" Us stores across the United Kingdom on Saturday 24 April.

The next round will be held at five UCI cinemas before the finale at bfi London IMAX.

Round one will take place at the Toys "R" Us stores listed below from 10am-5pm. You will be able to play Pokémon Colosseum before it is released but it seems to get into round two you will need to answer some questions and enter a free prize draw, so it is luck rather then skill.

  • Stockport
  • Warrington
  • Preston
  • Leeds
  • Manchester
  • Chester
  • Altrincham
  • Wakefield
  • Bolton
  • Liverpool
  • Bedford
  • Basildon
  • Brent Cross
  • Medway
  • Croydon
  • Thurrock
  • Luton
  • Harlow
  • Enfield.

The second round will be a traditional tournament, with players playing on the cinema screen for that big-screen Pokémon action. To take part in this round you must have first of all been selected and secondly take a Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire cartridge to play with. There are rules on the Pokémon you can enter and they can be seen in the link later in the article. Round two takes place on the 1st May at the following cinemas.

  • UCI Filmworks Manchester
  • UCI Gateshead Metro Centre
  • UCI Maidenhead
  • UCI Greenwich Filmworks
  • UCI Birmingham Solihull

The sixteen finalists from round two will battle it out in a tournament on Saturday 8 May 2004. The event will be played on the biggest cinema screen in the UK at the bfi London IMAX. Free drinks and food will be provided and apparently there will be real-life Pokémon patrolling the areas. This round however sees no rules when it comes to the Pokémon used.
