Marvelous Entertainment, best known for developing the Harvest Moon series of video games, has teased the Nintendo faithful with the prospect of a sumptuous 2D title for the 3DS.

It's already been known for a while that the company has several 3DS titles in the works. Speaking to Siliconera, Yoshifumi Hashimoto alluded to one of the projects in particular.

"It's not Muramasa, but I'm working on a 3DS title that has really incredible 2D visuals while taking full advantage of the 3DS' capabilities."

In recent years, the company has collaborated with several smaller Japanese developers to bring some unique games to Nintendo platforms, such as No More Heroes and Muramasa: The Demon Blade.
