News: Internet Channel Updated, Now Free

The Wii Opera Browser receives a small update and is now available to be downloaded for free!

Is that blue light flashing yet? Nintendo have issued a minor update to the Wii's Internet Channel that users can download after a quick trip to the Shop Channel. The update means the Opera Browser now supports a newer version of Adobe Flash Player, so check it out.

Perhaps the biggest change, however, is that those without the Internet Channel can now download it for free. The application was previously priced at 500 Points. But fear not if you're one of the ones that forked out for it. Towards the end of the year, Nintendo will be offering all those who payed 500 Points for the channel a chance to claim a free NES game. Information on how to do this will be posted to your Wii Message Board when the time comes, and will also be posted on the main Nintendo of Europe website.
