Nintendo's President sits down with the creator of the Pro Evolution Soccer series to discuss the upcoming 3DS title.
Fans of the Pro Evolution Soccer series are in for a treat with the newest Iwata Asks as the creator of the series, Shinji Enomoto, sits down with Satoru Iwata to talk about his history within the video game industry, the challenges the series has faced and what fans can expect from the upcoming 3DS game.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D is due for release soon and the ability to play a football game in 3D is obviously one of its biggest selling points. Discussing this new perspective Mr. Enomoto states "it feels as though you're standing on the field; I think the sense of tension you're able to feel around you is something the 3D made possible".
Shinji Enomoto admits that they faced numerous challenges when creating Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D, one of which was appealing to existing fans while hopefully attracting new audiences. To do this they have "made the game with two ways to play: one that would utilise the skills of returning players, and one that was only possible because of the new Nintendo 3DS".
The rest of the interview can be found here and is well worth reading. In it Shinji Enomoto and Satoru Iwata discuss how StreetPass will be used, what innovations they have implemented and the lengths the staff went through to make sure all the moves were realistic.
