The Nintendo President discloses how many DS and Wii games Nintendo has in development, and much more inside...
Speaking to the press yesterday in Tokyo, Nintendo company President Satoru Iwata has claimed that Nintendo is currently developing over 45 Wii and 79 DS titles - a total of 124 games, though some of these may not necessarily see release. He mentioned these included games destined for release between now and the end of Autumn, including Super Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros. Brawl.
DS Lite production is currently up to 2.5 million systems a month, more than 2.3 millions - the highest amount of GBAs produced in a month. Worth noting is that this figure was only reached for one month, whereas now 2.5 million DS Lites is the regular monthly amount.
Iwata commented on the shooting possibilities of the Wii, highlighting Metroid Prime 3 and saying that many testers have likened the intuitive controls to that of a keyboard and mouse control. He also revealed a figure of 3.3 million virtual console games had thus far been downloaded worldwide, and cryptically referenced future hardware from the company by stating that in case the market suddenly changes, Nintendo already has a development team "considering a variety of things." Hmm.
