Satoru Iwata has stated that Nintendo will focus on offering better deals for the Wii this Christmas rather than outright price cuts.
With sales dipping and increased direct competition from Kinect and Move many expected Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii to make it a more desirable product this Christmas. However, President Satoru Iwata has ruled this out and claims Nintendo will focus on ensuring the deals on offer are of better value instead.
Speaking just after announcing that Nintendo had suffered their first net loss in 7 years Mr. Iwata stated that the new red Wiis offer better value for money than before. He did acknowledge that they never know what may happen in the future but stated quite clearly that there will be no price cut in the immediate future.
