News: Japanese Catch Pokemon Fever!

That's right my friends, the Japanese have caught pokemon fever all over again! Head inside for the news!

Looks like the Japanese still can't get enough of Nintendos Pokemon! Early reports suggest that Pokemon Red Fire and Leaf Green have sold nearly half a million copies since their release yesterday!.

This is brilliant news for the company -many people have written of the popularity of the Pokemon franchise recently, claiming that its time to die had finally come. However, if these figures are to be believed as correct, then the popularity of Pokemon is just as strong as ever in Japan!

Pokemon Red Fire and Leaf Green are updates of the original Pokemon games released on the Game Boy. Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire when released in Japan sold a combined total of 1.3 Million units in the first week of sales alone.

This can only bode well for the European and North American release later this year -although Pokemon has never enjoyed the phenomenal popularity as it does in Japan, it still remains a top seller over here.
