News: Japanese Hardware Sales

Famitsu has released new console hardware sales

UPDATE:

We just received new Japanese console sales number of June 2nd to June 9th! GameCube sales are rising!!

Nintendo sold through 18,700 GameCubes in Japan this week, an impressive increase over the 4,100 sold just a week before. Meanwhile, GameCube's lower price point made a noticeable impact on sales of PS2, which fell from 56,772 to 49,800, and XBOX, which fell from 5,800 to 3,800 in the same period.

Famitsu has released the console hardware sales for the week of May 27th to June 2nd in Japan.

PS2: 56,772 (1,875,384 this year)
Game Boy Advance: 35,097 (1,163,685 this year)
Xbox: 5,912 (222,601 this year)

They are not very impressive. GameCube sales in general have been slow in Japan lately. Are they waiting for more quality games to be released? Super Mario Sunshine?
