Check out the new (Japanese) commercial for Square-Enix's Mario Hoops 3 on 3.

DS hoops fans (and fans of Mario sports titles in general) are looking to receive a real treat in Mario Hoops 3 on 3, developed by Square-Enix. Videos and hands-on impressions have proven promising, and now Nintendo has this cool little commercial making the TV rounds in Japan.

The commercial features the popular "Hot Mario Bros." engaging in a rhythmic pick-up game to the beats of touch screen taps and swipes to show off the game's dribbling and passing mechanics. Look closely for familiar faces from the Mario universe - this game is going to be packed with playable characters, including those that Square-Enix themselves are playfully introducing.

Mario Hoops 3 on 3 will be released in Japan on July 27th, and finally make it over to European shores in November as the tentatively titled Mario Slam Basketball.
