News: Japanese Wii Launch Info

Breaking: Details for Nintendo's homeland, Japan - where the Wii will launch after America.

In a somewhat surprising turn, it has been confirmed that the Wii will launch in the US before it actually gets released in its homeland of Japan. Earlier, we reported that Wii will launch on 19th November in the US, and it now turns out that Japan won't see the Wii hit its shores until December 2nd.

Retailing for around 25,000 yen (about $213), and, unlike the US launch plans, it will not feature a copy of WiiSports.

As usual, you should expect to get your mandatory objects within your box, such as the console, Wii-mote, Nunchaku, A/C adapter, A/V cable, the sensor bar, a sensor bar stand, and the lovely stand for the console. You will also get 2 AA batteries, just to see you on your way.

Additionally, you can purchase another additional Wii-mote for 3800 yen ($32), with the Nunchaku attachment retailing for around 1800 yen ($15). You can also expect to pay around 1800 yen for the Virtual Console controller.

The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess is expected to retail in Japan for about 6800 yen ($58), which could be an indication of the average price for Wii titles in Japan.
