Unity is a GameCube exclusive game under joint development by Llamasoft games and Lionhead Studios. The brain behind the project - Jeff Minter.

Unity is an abstract shooter kinda similar to Sega's cult hit REZ, using lightsynths. Lionhead Studios describes it as "a fabulous journey through a succession of beautiful abstract 3D spaces, with gameplay varying in tempo, from fast paced shooting to a more gentle progression. Audio effects will be closely linked with the games pace and tempo and will be an integral part of the playing experience."

Today we bring you some new screens of Jeff Minter's ambitious project. He took the screens himself with his digicam and posted them with the following words:

"So I have been working on the "New Texture Stuff" and just got to the point where all the layers of GUI are in and usable... and it's one of those moments when you put the bits together and the power just comes alive... just sitting playing at creating textures for a few minutes with just a few, simple, basic modules, and... wow!

... this is going to be *so* beautiful...

I am full-on lovin' the code right now :-)"
