News: Kingdom Hearts Suffers Hefty Sales Drop

Elsewhere, Kid Icarus holds strong in a relatively quiet week...
It's that time of week when we all religiously pour over Japanese sales and, for a change, there's not much of note to discuss this week.
With very few major new releases, we find ourselves evaluating how recent big titles are braving their post-debut weeks. Last week's chart topper Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is knocked off the top by yet another Super Robot Wars game for PSP. While Square-Enix's RPG settles for second place, it's an all too familiarly hefty drop in sales compared to its opening week.
More impressively is how Nintendo's Kid Icarus Uprising is faring. While no-one really expects it to have the legs of the likes of Mario Kart, Sakurai's wacky action romp does well to stay in the top-5 on its third week.
It's business as usual lower down the top ten, with the usual names showing no sign of slowing down.
Here's the Media Crate software chart for the week of April 2nd to 8th.

It's a week of mixed fortunes on the hardware side. After enjoying consecutive boosts thanks to Kid Icarus and Kingdom Hearts, 3DS comes back down to Earth with no new releases to replicate a third big week. Its drop this week might be overshadowed by Sony's Vita failing to sell over nine thousand for the first time ever. Meanwhile, Kinect Star Wars gives Xbox 360 a three hundred percent increase, as Microsoft's system bravely overhauls DS and PS2 to claim sixth place.
