The creator of Kirby, Masahiro Sakurai, has formed his own start up game development team...

Masahiro Sakurai, Kirby's father, has announced the creation of his own dedicated game development studio. The new development team, dubbed Sora (japanese for "sky"), already has two games in the works...though any details (including the target platform) remain a mystery.

For folks not familiar with Sakurai, most are likely very familiar with some of his work. Besides the inflatable pink hero, during his time with Hal, Sakurai was a chief Nintendo game designer whose credits also include the likes of the original Super Smash Brothers. DS fans may also recognize his dual-screened puzzle game creation Meteos, created in conjunction with Tetsuya Mizuguchi's Q Entertainment (another startup by a famous designer, inspiration perhaps?).

With his past work speaking for itself, here is hoping a game designer of Sakurai's caliber will be taking on the challenge of Revolution development next...one can hope.
