The pink puff returns to the DS in a new reimagining of the SNES classic, Kirby Super Star.

Last year, Nintendo announced that they would be bringing a third Kirby platformer to the DS - a reimagining of the classic SNES title Kirby Super Star. Nintendo of America have today confirmed that the title will be heading to North America under the name Kirby Super Star Ultra.

The portable remake will feature brand new graphics and fully rendered animated cut scenes. Several new modes have been confirmed, including Revenge of the King and Meta Knight Ultra (all the original modes will still be there). The main game will be playable in co-op in local wireless, and four friends will be able to take part in three new touch minigames in DS Download Play.

Kirby Super Star Ultra is set to launch on the DS on September 29th in the US.
