News: Koei Reveals Mysterious Opoona

Oddly titled, and controlled, RPG/adventure announced exclusively for the Wii.

First made public by 1Up's preview, Opoona has the Wii fanbase intruiged. Coming from Koei, and sporting RPG talent behind it (Hitoshi Sakimoto, the composer of Final Fantasy XII, Sachiko Yukimura, who has experience with Dragon Quest), the title promises to be a quirky, bold adventure. The titular hero must investigate the case of his missing siblings, and along the way can take on different roles - named so far are rescuer, idol and detective - to do so, as he travels the colonies of the gameworld in his adventure.

The most notable aspect about the game is the apparent discarding of the Wiimote for control purposes - Koei are saying that, instead, the nunchuk will singlehandedly (literally) control the combat. To what extent it'll come into into other areas of the game is unclear at the moment, but it has piked our interest.

More info as it comes. Opoona is scheduled for a June release in Japan.
