Konami has announced Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights for the 3DS, a title that looks similar to the Professor Layton series.

Andriasang report that the newest issue of Famitsu has unveiled a brand new 3DS title from Konami. Comparisons between the newly announced Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights and the Level-5 series Professor Layton have already been made due to the game's art style. The titular character even has a large top hat!

While no firm gameplay details are known about Doctor Lautrec and the Forgotten Knights the article reports that it is based upon archaeology and will feature events, battles, exploration and conversation. The story sees Doctor Lautrec and his young assistant Sophie embarking on a great adventure together.
