Nintendo has sold over 400.000 copies of Super Mario Sunshine(SMS) since it's release. Without a doubt the release of this game also boosted the GameCube hardware sales in Japan. And so it did...

In total 27.400 GameCube consoles were sold last week in Japan. And 10.000 consoles were sold during the week prior to the launch of SMS. That is a rise of 170% we are talking about! Because SMS was only released the friday of last week, we expect even more GameCube consoles to be sold this week in the land of the rising GameCube sales.
