Gradius and co. could all be yours today. For Wii points, of course.

Just a quick heads up that there will be some new additions to the Virtual Console today. You probably knew that already, as today is Friday, and not only does it signal the end of the week, but it is also known as "Virtual Console" day for Europe. Happy times.

So, what can be yours today?

Leading the charge is Gradius�, a classic side-scrolling shoot em-up from Konami, first playable on the Nintendo Entertainment System, which set-the standard for its genre as well as delighting game fans across the globe. Gradius�, is now available to download from the Wii Shop Channel for a 500 Wii Points.

The other three titles are all from the SEGA MegaDrive. Bonanza Bros. is a two player platformer where you commit burglaries as two troublesome brothers. Hmm, how would this type of game be perceived by the media if it were released today? We're betting that Jack Thompson would have something to say about that!

Next up is Comix Zone. Yet more two player action as you fight through a comic book, beating bad guys in order to get to the next page.

Finally up to two players can battle their way over 50 levels as one of twelve characters in the highly addictive Gain Ground�, All three SEGA MEGA DRIVE titles are available for 800 Wii points.
