The young version of Link will of course star in The Legend Of Zelda for GameCube. However, older Link won't have a part in that game. Therefore, Nintendo and Namco gave him a chance to play in another game, Soul Calibur 2.

It is said that this will be the Link from the Spaceworld 2000 video, where he was in an asskicking sword-fight with Zelda-character Ganondorf. Also, it is expected that Link's weapon will be his Master Sword.

Since Nintendo owns the rights for Link, he will be featured only in the GameCube version of the game, and no platform-specific hidden characters will appear in either the Xbox or PS2 version.
