News: Lots of Pokémon Black & White Info

We have new information about Pokémon Black & White's new Pokémon and special edition DSi consoles as well as lots of new screenshots!

Now that we know that Pokémon Black & White are being released in just under two months, on March 4th, prepare for a lot of new information about the games. Nintendo has released some of the new English names for various Pokémon recently as well as confirmed that limited edition DSi consoles will be hitting shelves.

First up we have some new English names for Pokémon to be featured in Black & White. For the first time in the franchise since Red & Blue you will not be able to capture Pokémon from the previous titles at first so you better start looking at which ones you will want now. The original Japanese names for each of the Pokémon are besides the English name in parenthesis.   • Braviary (Wargle)
  • Patrat (Minezumi)
  • Gothitelle (Gochiruzeru)
  • Reuniclus (Rankurusu)
  • Cofagrigus (Desukan)
  • Drilbur (Mogurew)
  • Axew (Kibago)
  • Woobat (Koromori)
  • Bianca (Belle)
  • Musharna (same as in Japan)
  • Cheren (same as in Japan)

Any gamers who want to go Pokémon crazy on March 4th can also pick up a limited edition Pokémon themed DSi, which will come with the game that corresponds to it's colour. Click the pictures below for larger images.

Finally, several days ago we reported that anyone with Pokémon HeartGold, SoulSilver, Platinum, Diamond and Pearl will be able to download Raikou, Entei and Suicune from February 7th. Serebii.net confirms that the details of each Pokémon are as follows:

  • Raikou: February 7th 2011 to February 13th 2011
  • Entei: February 14th 2011 to February 20th 2011
  • Suicune: February 21st 2011 to February 27th 2011
