The latest issue of Famitsu has blown the lid on a new Nintendo DS RPG!
Even more DS news has come by the way of Famitsu magazine today. Two well known Japanese developers Marvelous Interactive and Image Epoch will be developing a new collaborative DS strategy RPG. The game will be titled Luminous Arc and featuring such talents of Shinbano Kaito and Yasunori Mitsuda for characters and sound production respectively its sounding like a promising title already!
Luminous Arc is separated into two different sections. Adventure and strategy are the call of the day in this game. Within the adventure RPG cliché takes over with moving across a world map, talking to characters and buying items. The game is also the first DS RPG to have full voice acting and will apparently have a famous voice cast.
As for the strategy, it plays very much like a Nippon Ichi game. First you must edit your squad and make sure you have the correct amount of the right unit and so on. Then you take turns in battling, with your trusty DS stylus you can easily move your characters on squares on each map, like chess.
Although an EU and US release hasn't been announced yet a Japanese release is set for this winter. Its success will probably have an effect on whether or not we receive the title. Lets be honest, the DS is fairly thin on RPG's at the moment!
More on this exciting title as we get it.
