LOS ANGELES, CA (June 2, 2003) Vivendi Universal Games announced today the upcoming sci-fi action game Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter has gone gold for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system. Both versions are scheduled to ship to retailers on June 19, 2003. Versions of the game for Nintendo GameCube and Windows PC are scheduled to ship September 2, 2003.

Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter takes place hundreds of years in the future, where both human and alien settlers are rapidly colonizing the galaxy, and places players into the role of an ex-special ops officer, Mace Griffin. Against a backdrop of corporate, political and religious intrigue, Griffin is framed for his comrades' deaths. After a ten-year stint in prison, he becomes a bounty hunter, a vocation that gives him access to classified information and a means to aggressively search for the people who set him up to fall. The hallmark of the game is its ability to seamlessly transition the player from first-person action set on alien worlds to intense combat in the depths of space.

The character of Mace Griffin is being brought to life by hard rock front man (Black Flag, Rollins Band), actor ("The Chase," "Johnny Mnemonic"), and spoken word artist Henry Rollins. Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter, developed by U.K.-based Warthog, will ship to retailers with the suggested price of 50 dollars and an ESRB rating of "M" for Mature.
