News: Mario Defeats Modern Warfare 2!

The December sales figures are in for North America, with an extremely strong showing for Nintendo and their plumber mascot Mario...

Last year Nintendo of America's head honcho Reggie Fils-Aime predicted that New Super Mario Bros. would beat the PS3 version of FPS juggernaut Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Well, if he'd put a bet on it, he'd be in the money now - Mario's latest topped December's software charts for North America by quite a margin.

Overall the month was a resounding success for the company in general, holding six out of ten places in the software top ten and the top two spots in the hardware chart. Indeed, sales of the Wii and DS total more than the rest of the hardware chart combined.
