Nintendo have filed a new patent, Mario Dunk Shot. Whether its going to be a game or just one of those patents that are filed just in case is not sure, but it sure is fun to speculate.

Nintendo recently filed a new patent with the Japanese Patent Office. The new patent is under the name Mario Dunk Shot. What this means is not too clear.

Of course the first thing that comes to mind is a Mario basketball game. It makes sense, he's done just about every other sport. As well as that, he was in EA's NBA Street V3. However, you never know what it could be.

There is a chance that this is one of those patents that are filed and nothing is ever done about it, except for cause fans to speculate about it. Whether more will be announced at E3 is unsure, but for now rest happily in the knowledge that one day Mario may be donning shorts and hitting the courts.
