Another day, and even more information leaks out on what is surely the most anticipated Nintendo title this Christmas. First off, we can confirm there will be eight characters available from the start (we're guessing Mario, Luigi, Peach, DK, Toad, Yoshi and two others).

Additionally, there will be eight hidden characters in the game, (one of which is Waluigi, who can be unlocked by completing the Star Cup on a certain difficulty) making sixteen characters in total. Whether this total includes Shy Guy (who players are forced to use if they don't have a copy of the game themselves), we don't know.

Each character can use seven different karts. Most characters have their own, but for example Yoshi & Toad can both use DK's Rambi Kart. Also, Mirror Mode is confirmed to be in the game, technically making 64 track layouts for you to memorise!
