The game's not even out yet, but an online tournament for Nintendo fans world-wide is already online! Details inside...
Set up by R-E Forum members Charlie Douglas (Moria) and Chris Brandrick (CubeChris), WiFiKarts.co.uk is a competitive community for players who want to race against other Nintendo fans in a series of leagues and tournaments.
Currently seven different leagues are planned, the soonest starting on December 1st 2005, six days after Mario Kart's launch. This will be the Trial Tournament and will consist of 40 players from around the world taking part in a fierce competition over four separate rounds and at total of 72 races.
The main league will start next January when everyone is familiar with the game (even the people who are getting it for Christmas!). The site's operators hope to have four separate leagues, a tournament and a ladder all running at the same time, with further tournaments popping up throughout the year. Hopefully all with real prizes!
