A recent study of 13-16 year olds throughout Europe and the UK has shown that more than two-thirds among them have bought games rated as "Mature" or "Adults Only" by the ESRB.

As a result of this study, pressure is being applied by Anti-Violence groups to rate more games as "Adults Only" and to ensure that all retailers comply with the guidelines as set out by the ESRB.

This, of course, is the continuing fall-out from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. This study would seem to be more poignant when considered against the recent shootings in the USA by two young boys that went on a shooting spree that they claimed was directly inspired by the Grand Theft Auto series of games.

Naturally, it's a given thing that no-one asked how two young boys got hold of deadly firearms...
