News: Merrick Talks More Revolution

"There are no rules that it must be Japan or US first." Jim Merrick talked to Eurogamer about the Revolution; more highlights inside.
At the recent Nintendo Europe Summit, the senior vice-president of marketing at NOE offered some more speculative points about the Revolution to the European website. On the issue of the console's 'back catalogue', he noted that the contributors included "the usual suspects" (speculate away) and we probably wouldn't see every past Nintendo game made available (no Mario is Missing then; we're crushed). The only pricing clue for these downloads given was a flippant "couple of pounds" remark, unfortunately, and he suggested the wi-fi service could be used for downloading trailers, game demos etc.
Mr. Merrick elaborated on his earlier comment that the console would receive a worldwide release within 14 weeks, stating that the traditional model of "Japan first, then the US, then Europe some time later" may not apply. Asked if this meant Europe could get the initial release, he would only say that "anything's possible". We live in hope.
