Konami dashes the hopes of Nintendo fans, by announcing Metal Gear Solid Touch - but for iPhone.

Not for Nintendo :(

Earlier this month we reported on a strange teaser image on Konami's website, hinting at an upcoming Metal Gear Solid title which raised the possibility of it landing on a Nintendo console.

Unfortunately for Ninty fans - Metal Gear Solid Touch as it has now been named - will launch exclusively for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The game will apparently be set in the MGS4 universe, and unfortunately has no DS launch on the horizon. Bummer.

So, why the big hoo-hah? Why the reporting of a game for the iPhone, you may ask? Well, this is indeed a significant coup for Apple. In a market dominated by the DS, the iPhone is not looking scared.
