Metroid Dread

News: Metroid Dread Is... Dead

We've heard the mysterious 2D Metroid sidescroller for the DS has been canned. More details inside...

The game was never officially announced, but we know it existed. How? Well, back during this year's E3, we reported on the titles the big N would showcase. Among the list was Metroid Dread, though in the end, it never appeared.

The E3 list was most definately genuine, as it was the first time we heard the "Twilight Princess" subtitle for the upcoming Zelda. Rumour was that Metroid Dread would be the sequel to Metroid Fusion, and would contain similar 2D graphics.

Apparently the title was only early in pre-developement, so never made the show. However now we understand the title has been canceled altogether. Still, at least there's Metroid Prime: Hunters to look forward to.

Thanks to N-Next for the heads up on this.
