Could Metroid, Zelda and Mario films be on the way? Reggie has apparently said it's a good possibility...

Sales and Marketing giant Reggie Fils-Aime has been interviewed by Mexican publication Club Nintendo about the Big N's plans for silver screen versions of their most popular franchises.

Reggie mentioned Nintendo had plans to produce a film adaptation of Metriod, though no production schedule, budget or cast and crew was mentioned. He also said the Zelda series would be next in line, then possibly another film based around Mario.

Updated! We've just received word Club Nintendo have published a retraction on their previous statement, saying they were wrong about Reggie talking about a Zelda movie, "which is totally FALSE... While Nintendo is working on a Metroid movie, there are currently no plans for a Zelda or Mario film as of now. Club Nintendo assumes this mistake in it entirety."
