Nintendo announce the Wii Metroid Prime Trilogy compilation has ceased production - buy your copy now!
Nintendo have confirmed fan speculation that the brilliant Metroid Prime Trilogy compilation for Wii, which updates GameCube titles Prime and Echoes along with the series' third part Corruption, has been discontinued.
The compilation has become harder to find online in recent weeks, with Amazon now only listing it as available from independent sellers or second hand. An enquiry to Nintendo elicited the response:
"Unfortunately, Metroid Prime Trilogy is no longer being shipped ... When first introduced, it was announced that there would be limited availability. However, a reason for this was not announced. That being said, you may still be able to locate a copy via stores that specialize in previously played or used games."
Other GameCube updates in the New Play Control! range are still available (although as far as we know, no more are planned for release), so it remains a bit of a mystery why this game only has been discontinued. If you haven't yet got the game - pick it up now (our friends at GamesBasement still have it in stock), before it truly becomes a collector's item!
