Nintendo try their hand at the crafty internet based teaser website marketing strategy.

But what does that all mean? The guys over at CVG have identified two website's that are masquerading as something else, while secretly acting as a clever marketing ploy to promote Metroid Prime 2, which is due out this November on the 15th in the US and the 26th in Europe.

If you fancy a bit of fun attempting to decipher the treats stored within these teaser website's then look no further. The first on the list is Channel 51 which pretends to be a UFO conspiracy discussion meeting place, but its the writer of the site that is most intriguing, a Samantha Manus from Sumas, WA. The second appears to be a military developer who is working on a special battle sphere, going under the name of Orbis Labs

As the release of one of the Gamecube's key titles nears ever closer this 'different' strategy for Nintendo should help drive some momentum for sales of the game upon its launch.
