Warren Spector has stated that Jim Dooley's score will make you cry.
In a new behind-the-scenes video about Epic Mickey's music the game's creator Warren Spector has talked about the process of finding a composer who understood what "a Disney score" is. He hired Jim Dooley for the project and has been continuously impressed with his work.
Jim Dooley, who has worked on projects as broad as Pushing Daisies, The Simpsons Movie and inFamous amongst many others, has created a broad range of scores to match each of the game's levels and characters.
When Warren Spector asked Mr. Dooley for a score for both Mickey and Oswald he states that he was surprised with how impressive the results were. Video games, unlike television shows or films, require music to be flexible as it mirrors what the player is doing but Jim Dooley's work on Epic Mickey has managed to achieve that.
Mr. Spector then continues to state that there are times that the music in the game will actually make you cry. The score has recently been nominated for "Best Original Score - Video Game" in the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. We'll have to wait until the end of the month to see whether we are as quick to tears as Mr. Spector.
