Microsoft have commented on the upcoming handheld wars between Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP.
At a recent Halo 2 event held last week, Peter Moore of Microsoft spoke of how PSP stands no chance against the DS. With Nintendo dominating the handheld market, Sony entering the market is "like developing your own little operating system and saying, 'Well, I'm going to challenge Windows'," according to Moore, when questioned at the event.
Robbie Bach, chief executive of Microsoft told the audience I think, in general, it's different than our [console] business," when talking about the handheld market. He also went on to say "We've yet to see anybody make a meaningful connection between having a console and having a handheld. If Sony is distracted by way of a war with Nintendo, that's fine with us."
Nintendo's upcoming DS is already sold out at Gamestop and EB Games and thats just pre-orders, giving Sony a really hard job of taking over the handheld market. GBA SP will carry on selling strong, with a massive user base, and with DS entering the market Nintendo are looking stronger than ever.
