News: Microsoft To Take Wii Approach?

A more mainstream approach has been hinted at by Peter Moore. Head inside to read all about it.

In a recent interview with Game Informer, Microsoft Boss Peter Moore has hinted that Microsoft may change their approach play and go after a more mainstream style market success, similar to that of the Wii.

"From a first-party point of view, it's not just about E-rated games, it's going to be about the experience that, quite frankly, Nintendo has done a tremendous job in capturing, in bringing back fun - if you will - to the gaming platforms", said Moore in an interview with Game Informer.

"But we've got a few tricks up our sleeve as well to be able to do that. It's not something that we're going to be shy about, and it's not something that we're not painfully aware of that needs to be changed by this holiday. That has been the strategy all along, and we'll be making some more announcements in the coming month or two."

No concrete details were given about this slight 'change of plan', but as Microsoft are the only one out of the big three to lack a motion-sensing controller, could they be cooking something up along these lines? Or, is it purely to do with the games, or perhaps even broaden the appeal of Xbox Live.

It'll be interesting to see how this pans out over the coming months, and it'll be interesting to see how Nintendo plans to counter-act this move, if they plan to act at all.
