News: Mirra And Acclaim Settle Dispute

Software giant Acclaim and BMX superstar Dave "Reflection" Mirra have settled their dispute over image copyright.

The origin of the dispute came from the much ridiculed extreme sports nudity "game" BMX XXX.

Dave Mirra contended that his image had been used to promote the game despite the fact that he had not given his permission to do so. Although the BMX rider has a contract with Acclaim running until 2011, Mirra filed a legal action against the software giant, citing a breach of contract as the reason for the action.

Sports fans can rest easy though, as it was recently announced that things had been settled between the two parties and they are now both working together to create a new Dave Mirra-inspired game. No money changed ghands in the settlement of the dispute so we have no reason to believe that this has been resolved in anything less than an amicable fashion.

Mirra was quoted as saying:

"I'm glad that this issue is behind us. I look forward to working with Acclaim and to continue making the best BMX video games available for fans of the sport."
