News: Mist Walker Confirms First DS Game

Hironobu Sakaguchi, one of the key men behind the Final Fantasy series, has a new developer. And they've a DS project in the works.

Former FF series director Sakaguchi-san left Square-Enix and started a small devco named Mist Walker halfway through last year. They later announced that they were working on two role-playing titles; now they've confirmed that one is for the Nintendo DS, and given some details.

Like the well-received Final Fantasy Tactics Advance it will be a strategic RPG, a genre which Sakaguchi is a fan of himself, despite being a virgin with it.

"I think that the elements in strategy RPGs, such as moving around the pieces or instructing [pieces to move to] areas, go perfectly with the touch-sensitive panel," he commented. "I'm hoping to make it into a game that can be deeply enjoyed with just the stylus."

So then, RPG fans rejoice.
