News: Miyamoto Expects NSMB Wii To Have Legs

In other news, the sky remained blue today...

Legendary games designer Shigeru Miyamoto was today in attendance at a Nintendo retailer briefing in Japan where he personally showed off the company's big Christmas title, New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

The famed veteran briefly spoke on how successful he expects the title to perform commercially. It seems Miyamoto-san believes the game will be a long-selling, 'evergreen' title.

"It's a Mario that will continue selling even after one year has passed."

The briefing comes amid confirmation that New Super Mario Bros. Wii will release in Japan on December 3rd.

The game's DS predecessor moved just under 900,000 units in its first week on sale in Japan, but went on to sell over five million copies. It'll be interesting to see whether its home console big brother can pull off a similar feat.
