Legendary Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto mentions a new Wii Zelda title, and a Mario Galaxy sequel?!

Interviewed in Famitsu's recent 1000th issue, Miyamoto was mainly asked to look back over his past achievements in the field of video-gaming. He was also asked about the future however, and what Nintendo had in store for its two biggest franchises.

Speaking about Mario, he said that he was "interested" in making a sequel to the recent outer-space adventure Mario Galaxy, which saw extremely high critical acclaim, though failed to sell commercially as much as Nintendo had expected.

Shigsy also mentioned that he was "thinking" about the next Zelda title, which is widely expected to have new Wii-mote controls.

Confirmation of another Mario and Zelda title this generation? We'll keep our ears to the ground for more.
