Shigeru Miyamoto states more 3D remakes are on the way and cites A Link To The Past as one game he wishes to remake.
While in London recently Shigeru Miyamoto spoke to EDGE about the 3DS and said that Nintendo will once again focus on software now, having focused on hardware recently.
"I think 3DS is a unique entertainment tool - everyone can understand how it works. One of our next aims is: how do you convey this message? Because one has to play and experience [it]. We spent a lot of time developing 3DS, for games for the future, so from now on I think we'll focus more on gaming and we are releasing lots of games this year."
The 3DS eShop is due for release next month but so far not much has been revealed about the feature. While we know it will contain a virtual console as well as downloadable titles, similar to WiiWare, Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that when the eShop is launched "we will start to create meaningful and high-value games for 3DS specifically".
Mr. Miyamoto commented that he believes there will be more 3D remakes in the future and when asked what games he'd like to be remade he gave A Link to the Past as his answer. "Do you remember Xevious? It's two-layered and I really wanted to create that at the time. So to see Link To The Past in two layers would be quite attractive for me."
He also told the magazine that work has already begun on a Wii successor and it is just a case of waiting until Nintendo decide to announce it, whether or not that is at this E3 as has been heavily rumoured lately. "Please wait. Be patient until we decide."
